Mid-Manair will be ready in a year: Rama Rao
The reservoir provides irrigation to upland areas in Sircilla constituency
Karimnagar: Information Technology and Panchayat Raj minister K.T. Rama Rao said the mid-Manair reservoir (MMR), being constructed on river Manair at Manwada village in Boinpally mandal, would be completed in one-and-a-half year and that it would supply irrigation water to upland areas in Sircilla Assembly constituency soon after.
The minister held a meeting with the irrigation officials and reviewed the progress of MMR in Hyderabad on Saturday. He asked the officials concerned to hasten acquisition of land, rehabilitation and resettlement of evacuees and also to find permanent solutions to problems being faced by farmers in upland areas of Sircilla Assembly constituency.
Joint collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was present at the meeting, said the minister instructed the authorities to prepare estimations for the compensation to be given to evacuees of Chilavancha, Nilojipaka, Kudurpaka and Chintalthana villages, which will get submerged, in next ten days.
The minister also stressed on the importance of completing the rehabilitation and resettlement colonies being constructed for the evacuees of four villages.
The minister directed the officials to complete works relating to power and water supply, apart from internal roads, by the end of December.
