Nagireddy arrested for attack on Telugu Desam councillors
Judicial First Class Magistrate Rammohan Rao remanded him to 15 days custody

Nandyal: Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagireddy surrendered at the DSP office at Nandyal on Saturday in connection with the attack on TD councillors during a meeting. After he surrendered, the police arrested him and produced him before court. After surrendering before ASP Sal Preetsingh, the Judicial First Class Magistrate Rammohan Rao remanded him to 15 days custody.
He said that he had only asked for the doors to be shut, but the chairperson ignored his request to discuss the people's problems in the meeting. However, he denied his involvement in the attack on TD councillors. He said that ruling party was foisting false cases against Opposition leaders. Earlier, the TD leaders had filed a case of attempt to murder case against Bhuma for the municipal office controversy.
Earlier a large number of YSR activists turned up at Nandyal Town when Bhuma announced his surrender to the police while YSRC Kurnool district meeting was cancelled following a police hunt for Bhuma Nagireddy. YSRC state secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, B. Akhila Priya, S.V. Mohan Reddy and B. Karunakar Reddy reached Nandyal. They alleged that the TD government was resorting to revenge politics.
Kurnool SP K. Ravikrishna said that the police had arrested Nagireddy in connection with the attack on TD councillors and had booked two cases in this connection including SC/ST Atrocities case. He said that the police are searching for others based on the footage given by municipal officials.
