Government schoolteacher was suspended on Saturday for creating a fake order from the Election Commission of India
Krishnagiri: A government schoolteacher was suspended on Saturday for creating a fake order from the Election Commission of India (ECI) to shirk voter enrolment duty. The teacher, P.M. Gowran, 40, was appointed as duty officer for the new voter enrolment camp held last Sunday in Dharmapuri Avvaiyar government girls middle school.

However, the teacher was absent when the district election officer and collector K. Vivekanandan visited the place. When he was questioned, he produced an ECI order which stated that another teacher, Kathiravan, had been posted as duty officer in place of Gowran.
However, an official probe revealed that the order was fake and he had concocted it.
As Kathiravan did not report for duty, Gowran landed in trouble.

K.P. Maheshwari, chief education officer for Dharmapuri, on orders of collector Vivekanandan, placed Gowran under suspension.
