CPM to launch a joint nationwide week long campaign against communalism

New Delhi: Decimated at the national level the Left parties met on Saturday to discuss ways to revive its sagging electoral fortune.

In a move to try revive itself the six Left parties decided to launch a joint nationwide week long campaign against communalism and the problems afflicting the people’s lives and livelihood. The campaign will be held from December 8 to 14 across the country.

CPM general secretary, Prakash Karat said, “We have put out a nine-point charter of demands which includes the attack on MGNREGA by the Centre, its decision to increase FDI in insurance sector, its failure to take firm steps to unearth blackmoney,” he said.
