Hyderabad: The Sikh community in the city is all set to begin the three-day festivities to celebrate the 545th birth  anniversary of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev with a colourful procession (Nagar Keertan). Nearly  25,000 devotees from across the state are expected to  participate  in the celebrations  scheduled to begin from November 3, 2014.  
 
Two ‘nagar keertans’  will be conducted as part of the festivities. The Sikh martial art, ‘Gatka’ using swords, will also be on display. On November 3, the nagar keertan procession will leave from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj at 4pm and proceed via Siddiambar Bazar, Jambagh, Putli Bowli, Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda to reach Gurudwara Singh Sabha in the evening.
 
On November 4, the Nagar Keertan  procession will start at 4.30 pm from Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and proceed via Natraj Talkies, Clock Tower, Bata, Kingsway, Monda Market, Alpha Hotel and return to  Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad in the evening.  
 
On November 6,  the celebrations will conclude with a ‘vishaal deewan’ (mass congregration)  to be  held at the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally. Telangana Chief Miniter K. Chandrashekhar Rao will participate in the celebrations on November 6.
