Mangaluru: Reacting to the charges of him trying to woo minority communities in the state, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he was trying to provide the minorities the equality and justice prescribed in the Indian Constitution.

Mr Siddaramaiah was speaking at the Humanistic Conference-2014 organised by Sunni Students Federation (SSF) at Nehru Maidan on Sunday evening as part of their silver jubilee celebrations.

“There are allegations that I am trying to woo the minorities. But in reality I am just trying to provide the equality and justice prescribed to the minorities in the Indian Constitution,” Mr Siddaramaiah said.

He said that the state government would take action against any individual or organisation indulging in anti-national activities and added that terrorism was not just limited to one particular religion.

“It is of much concern that there is an increase in terrorism incidents despite the majority of youth receiving good education,” he added.
