BENGALURU: She had come, with her husband and relatives to register a strong protest with the school authorities who had not only failed to safeguard her child from a sexual attack by a paedophile, but even after the horrific event had not bothered to even call her to commiserate or offer their help.

Instead, when they heard that the parents were headed for the school, they cancelled the parent-teacher meeting.

As the tearful and angry mother of the rape victim recounted her story outside the school, she became so emotional, she collapsed, losing consciousness as her family came to her aid.

Later, speaking to Deccan Chronicle, braving the public scrutiny, she was clear about one thing - her daughter was never going back to that school.

"I will never ever send my daughter back to Indiranagar Cambridge school. How can I trust the management will protect her, when they were unable to keep her safe.

A school which has not even bothered to contact me even once after my little girl was sexually assaulted by her teacher?. They don't care," she said. " I want an answer from the management or the principal," she said as she and the rest of the family staged a protest in front of the school at 10.30 am on Monday morning, threatening to set herself ablaze if the school management did not meet them.

"I want an answer from the school management or principal. How can they not talk to us when we are going through so much pain because of their negligence. I just want someone from the management or the principal to talk to us and tell us why the incident happened.

If I don't get an answer, I will douse myself in kerosene and set myself ablaze in front of the school," she threatened.

She said that her daughter hadn't stopped crying, and had barely eaten since the attack. "I don't want other girls and their parents to undergo the pain and trauma we are undergoing.

Such incidents should not take happen anywhere. The teacher who did this to my child should be given maximum punishment. The laws should be made stringent so that no one dares to commit such a crime," she demanded, urging that the Education Minister should come to the spot and meet them, before she collapsed in a heap.

Her husband and other relatives rushed to her help while her husband lifted her and rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was treated. Undaunted, they were back in 30 minutes and protested in front of the school till around 3 pm, before leaving.
