1 crore members: Saffron party has maha plans
Through mobile apps, the party will start the membership drive from November 13
Bengaluru: Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech while launching the party’s membership drive, the state BJP has set the goal to reach one crore membership by March 2015.
As advised by the Prime Minister and party president Amit Shah to take the party membership to ten crore in the country, the state BJP has decided to aim for one crore members.
The state unit has formed a committee headed by MLC Siddaraju and others to work for the membership drive which will start on November 13 and continue till March 2015.
During the previous membership drive, the party had registered 43 lakh members. “ If our cadres try hard, it would possible to reach our target in five months. Because without using new technology itself, the party had registered 43 lakh members in the previous drive”, said a senior BJP functionary.
Though it is a tough task for the party to register one crore members in five months, party cadres areconfident of reaching the goal, said a BJP leader.
However sources said that, if it fails to reach the target of one crore, party leaders had suggested that the state unit should at least double the figure reached in the previous membership drive.
Through mobile apps, the party will start the membership drive from November 13. Before this, the state BJP has arranged a workshop for party cadre.
At the workshop, the party will educate its cadre about the usage of new mobile application for thedrive, said a BJP leader.
