Mumbai: Netmagic, an NTT Communications company and a leading managed IT hosting services provider, on November 4 announced that it has achieved Cloud Security Alliance’s Security, Trust & Assurance Registry (CSA STAR) certification after a rigorous audit process. Netmagic thus becomes the first cloud service provider in India to receive the CSA STAR certification, an industry benchmark for the specific security requirements of multi-tenant service providers. Netmagic is also the first service provider in the world to be certified for CSA STAR Cloud Capability Maturity Model (CCM) version 3.0.1. This further strengthens Netmagic’s commitment to deliver cloud computing solutions that facilitate interoperability, portability, and security for various enterprise end user scenarios.

“We pursued the certification as part of our ongoing commitment to provide the highest possible levels of cloud security and compliance. This certification places us at par with international standards and reinforces our adherence to best cloud security practices, facilitating a secure working environment for enterprises in India,” said Sharad Sanghi, Managing Director & CEO, Netmagic, an NTT Communications Company.

“Demonstrable security, trust and assurance for the customer is the need of the hour and Netmagic’s success in achieving this feat is a clear demonstration of its core competency in this field,” said Venkataram Arabolu, MD, BSI Group India.

As a cloud service provider, Netmagic understands the importance of protecting its customers’ information – particularly as per a British Standards Institution (BSI) research which shows that 51% of organizations are reluctant to migrate to the cloud due to concerns about data security flaws.

Continuing its commitment towards improvement of processes and innovations in offerings and delivery, Netmagic has further reinstated it’s stand by becoming the first cloud service provider, both in India and across the world, to have achieved the CSA Star certification version 3.0.1, wherein Netmagic’s infrastructure, physical and logical security measures, processes, portal, and technical staff went through extensive review by BSI. This was in order to validate the operational integration, which is designed to provide a controlled framework that addresses the unique security requirements demanded by customers of cloud service providers.

Besides the CSA STAR Certification, Netmagic Cloud Services are already compliant and certified with other global standards – Information Security Management System - ISO/ IEC 27001:2005, IT Service Management - ISO 20000-1: 2011, Quality Management System - ISO 9001:2008 and SAP-Certified Provider of Cloud and Hosting Services. It also holds the unique distinction of being the only service provider in Asia to have a datacenter inside a stock exchange.

As more customers ask for proof of measures taken to ensure security of their IT networks and data, the CSA STAR Certification will instill greater confidence in Netmagic’s service capability and security on Cloud based offerings.
