Bengaluru Rape Case: Father, My wife did not find death note, how did police
CID under control of state government can give twist to the incident
TIRTHAHALLI (SHIVAMOGGA DIST): “I want the death of my daughter to be handed over to the CBI as I have no confidence in the CID, which is under the purview of the state government,” said the father of the 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered here.
He said, “I have no confidence in the state government, as even after five days of my daughter’s death, none of the ministers have given any statement in favour of us. I have fully cooperated in the case.
The police have arrested 47 innocents, including PUC students and common people, and lodged them in the Ballari Jail which a sheer act of injustice. Does it have any meaning?”
He said, “As I am a Hindu I am not getting any support from the local police, the minister and authorities. The state government and the police are indifferent. Why is the government reluctant to speed up the investigation and take strong action even now?”
He said, “The police said one has been arrested. But till now he has not been produced before the courts or public, and no one knows where he has been lodged. They said two more were arrested on Monday. Who they are and the reason behind their arrest has not been made public. All these issues have to be probed.”
He said, “The Minister (Kimmane Rathnakar) told me that Section 302 of the IPC had been slapped against the culprits and others would be arrested soon. It was just eyewash.”
On the “death note” of his daughter which surfaced on Sunday, he said, “The local police did not take my or my wife’s signature while taking away my daughter’s schoolbag. Before that, my wife had checked the bag and the books, but she did not find this ‘death note’. How did the police get it? Even the initials in her name do not match in the note, which obviously raises suspicion.”
On the medical reports not confirming rape, he said, “The culprits tried to commit the rape. But when they saw someone coming near the spot, they threw her down the hill and ran away.”
He said, “We have been spending sleepless nights. We have been provided no security during nights and we are anxious.”
