BENGALURU: Four men, accused of allegedly gangraping a 26-year-old woman even as her husband, child and mother-in-law watched, have been arrested by the HSR Layout police.

The arrested are reported to be habitual offenders who posed as cops and committed crimes. Four of them robbed the complainant’s house on October 24 in Bellandur. While two of them raped the woman, another filmed it.

The police identified the arrested as Anil Kumar, Nandish, Simon and Sujith. The police said that the four accused threatened the saying they would make the video public if her family approached the police. They also ransacked the house and escaped with cash and valuables.

The family members, who were rescued by the neighbours, initially reported the robbery, and complained about gangrape only at the police station. With the help of the offenders’ gallery with the police, the victims soon identified the accused, the police said.
