GHMC tipper rams into bikes, crushes three to death in Hyderabad

The truck hit the bikes from behind and crushed the riders on the spot

Hyderabad: Three young men were killed and one person was seriously injured when a GHMC tipper lorry rammed into two bikes near Ramakrishnapuram flyover in Neredmet on Wednesday morning.

Two of the victims died on the spot while one was declared “brought dead” in a corporate hospital.

The victims were identified as Pranay, 19, a degree student from Filmnagar, A. Ajay, 25, a mason and J. Venkatesh, 18, a labourer. Ajay and Venkatesh lived in Pulapally Balaiah Colony of Old Safilguda, Neredmet.

Neredmet police said that the accident occu-rred at around 9 am when Pranay and Ramu were travelling on a motorcycle from Trimulgherry towards Neredmet. “The truck rammed into their bike from behind, causing one rider fall on the road. The truck then ran over Pranay and hit another bike, which was coming from the opposite side. The two riders on that bike, Ajay and Venkatesh, came under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot,” said Neredmet inspector N. Chandrababu.

A case has been booked against the driver.
