Batch of Haj pilgrims return to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: As many as 6,043 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana  who had gone to Saudi Arabia for Haj have arrived safely in  Hyderabad after successfully concluding the religious trip.
Professor  S.A. Shukoor, special officer of Telangana State Haj Committee said that the Haj Camp 2014 concluded on Thursday with arrival of  the last batch of 26 Haj pilgrims at the 
Haj House at Nampally, from Mumbai  through a Special RTC bus.
 
He said that this year the Haj Committee had received 18,083 applications of which 5,379 were  selected through Qurrah (draw of lots) and 6,043 pilgrims left from Hyderabad including 3,928 from Telangana, 1,376 from Andhra Pradesh and 739 from Karnataka. He said 413 pilgrims left from Bengaluru embarkation point.
 
The special officer said this year  three pilgrims expired while on Haj, two from Hyderabad and one from Ananthpur while  27 pilgrims returned early owing to medical or personal grounds.
