Parties gear up to highlight power crisis in both Houses
Majority of the listed questions are on the power situation in the state
Hyderabad: The TRS and the Opposition TD and the Congress are ready for a tumultuous day at the Legislative Assembly and Council on Friday, as TRS members will be using the listed questions to go on the offensive.
Several TRS members will be taking on the Opposition by raising the issue of contentious power sharing agreements between Telangana and AP and the violations of the same by the AP government.
Majority of the listed questions are on the power situation in the state including the steps taken by the government to tide over the crisis.
While the TRS MLAs will be fishing for credit for putting several supplementaries on the so called injustice meted out to Telangana by AP, the Opposition Congress MLAs will be questioning the government on its failure to supply power to various sectors including agriculture.
In the Upper House too, few former Congress MLCs, who have recently joined the TRS, will be asking some embarrassing questions regarding a private milk firm owned by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s family.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Opposition members allow the Question Hour or not by moving adjournment motions and pressing for taking up for discussion before Question Hour.
The Business Advisory Committee had clearly stipulated on Wednesday that the Question Hour should not be disturbed and adjournment motion notices should be raised only after completion of the Question Hour.
