Uttar Pradesh: Doctor booked over conducting illegal sex determination

Accused have been booked under the Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques Act

Muzaffarnagar: A doctor of a city hospital and three others have been booked for allegedly conducting illegal sex determination test at Shamli district here, police said on Saturday.

A case was registered yesterday against Yogesh Choudhary (doctor) and three staff members who are identified as Arju, nurse Sangita and Manjit.

All the accused have been booked under the PNDT (Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques) Act, Dy Chief Medical Officer Bhanu Prakash said.

On receiving a complaint that sex determination tests were being conducted illegally, an inquiry was conducted at the private hospital in Shamli.
