Mumbai: Popular TV actor Karan Tacker says he would prefer doing a show like '24' next rather than a daily soap as he feels miniseries are more interesting and creatively satisfying for artistes. Karan, who is known for his role in TV serial 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai', thinks small screen is going through a transition.
"I want to do something like '24'. It is interesting to be a part of such a show as there is a definite end; it is almost like reading a book. As an actor you are clear as to what you have to do in such a show. There is a certain graph and it becomes a more involved process whereas in a daily soap, story changes every day. It becomes slow as the time passes. There are Pakistani shows on TV which are just 20-30 episodes long, making them more interesting. I feel TV is undergoing a change. People's taste is also changing," Karan told PTI.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old actor is geared up for the second season of TV show 'Halla Bol', which showcases stories inspired by various real life instances and celebrates the victories of women on Bindaas channel "It was an obvious choice for me to be back with second season. This time we are showing stories of women taking up careers which are believed to be dominated by men. We will
show how women are successful even in those fields. These are true stories and a show like this throws light on these issue," Karan said.
The actors feel that celebrities should take up such shows, which sensitise the masses about social issues, as fans look up to them. "We actors have a good fan base so I feel it should be our
responsible to take up such causes as our presence means more reach. People will see and understand the issues if their favourite actors are championing them. When actors do something, fans feel it is the correct thing," he said.
