Kolkata: An explosion close to the CRPF campus that houses the National Investigation Agency’s Kolkata office at Salt Lake Sector 5, where four arrested Burdwan blast accused have been lodged, triggered panic on Monday evening. No one was, however, injured in the incident at a bus stop next to the CRPF base near the Sashastra Seema Bal campus.

CRPF and police officials who rushed to the spot did not, however, find any trace of explosives, though the bus stand was damaged. The NIA has arrested another key accused member of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, Amjad Ali Sheikh alias Kajal, 30, for the Burdwan blast from Birbhum on Monday. It said his arrest was “a major breakthrough”.
