Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was called a lafanga by TRS legislator Jupally Krishna Rao for trying to stall power generation at Srisailam and hurting Telangana farmers.
The Chief Minister, ministers and TRS legislators stepped up their counter attack on the Telugu Desam and Congress both inside and outside the Assembly. Mr Jupally attacked Mr Naidu for trying to stall power generation at Srisailam, denying Telangana its rightful share of power from Krishnapatnam and other units in Seema Andhra, ignoring the plight of TS farmers.
The TRS legislator said Telangana was drawing power as per quota in Srisailam for 30 years. In the past, water was drawn even at the depth of 760 feet. Today, the water level is 856 feet. The water is used to generate power for Telan-gana since farmers are facing severe power crisis, he said. Mr Jupally and other TRS leaders accused TD legislators of toeing Mr Naidu’s line, living in Telangana and doing ‘broker giri’.
TRS MLAs criticsised the TD and Congress for obstructing Assembly proceedings by raking up farmers issues and shedding crocodile tears for Telangana martyrs and farmers.
“You never spoke when 1,200 youths were killed for Telangana. You did not observe two minutes silence as a mark of respect for them or for dead farmers,” fumed Mr Juppally Krishna Rao.
