Members of the Tamil Nadu Government Doctors Association are opposing the proposed move by the Union health ministry on the amendment in the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, which allows ayurveda practitioners, homeopaths, nurses and midwives,

Hyderabad: November 12 is the deadline issued by the director of health and medical education Dr P. Srinivas to junior doctors to resume work.

After which  their attendance will fall short of the ‘the acceptable level’. Despite entering the 43rd day of the strike,  junior doctors are  unwilling to budge from their stand.

Of the 3,000 letters sent to parents, most  said they want their children to resume duties but  others are stopping them.

Parents complained their wards were receiving  threats and they are unsure of what to do, said health department source.
