Chennai: Hitting out at Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam for his “cold war” criticism of his party, DMK treasurer M.K.Stalin on Tuesday said the CM would come to grief by his own designs if he attempted to disrupt the harmony and create confusion in the DMK. Dismissing Stalin’s suggestion to convene the state Assembly to discuss milk price hike and fishermen death row among other things, Mr Panneerselvam had said he did not need Stalin’s advice for convening the Assembly and that there was cold war between Stalin and his father Karunanidhi in their party.

Asserting that his father would be the Chief Minister if the DMK is voted to power in 2016, Stalin lashed out at Mr Panneerselvam saying he was reluctant to even acknowledge that he was the chief minister and conduct like one.

“I am always bound by the party chief (Karunanidhi) as a party worker. As a son I am bound by my father.” Referring to TN Assembly rules, which allow members to seek a sitting of the House, Mr Stalin wondered if he was not entitled to request for a session to discuss the crucial issues of people.
