Xiaomi gets Android Lollipop
Xiaomi has announced the roll out of Android Lollipop for their smartphones
Xiaomi never fails to surprise us, and this time, they did not surprise us with handset sales, but with Android Lollipop.
The Xiaomi blog announced yesterday that they have rolled out the Android Lollipop update for their smartphones. Although the announcement was made a week ago, it was in testing phase till November 10.
The new Android Lollipop MIUI flavour will presently be available for a few Xiaomi handset models, which include the Xiaomi Mi2 and Mi2S.
Xiaomi will roll out the updates for the Mi3 and Redmi 1S shortly, but has not yet announced the dates for the same.
However, since the Android Lollipop is in an initial stage for Xiaomi and they have to tweak the system with respect to MIUI, there are a few visible bugs in the new OS and they will surely be ironed out within a few weeks. Issues like dual-boot, Bluetooth headset calls and CDMA SIM cards are not yet completely functional.
Xiaomi is very active with their MIUI operating system and they will surely release a bug-free version soon as the MIUI developer community releases their updates every Friday (weekly).
