Hyderabad: Mini-buses, seven-seater vans and even e-rickshaws (battery operated rickshaws) are being planned from the residential colonies on the Uppal-Mettuguda stretch of the Metro Rail corridor.
A team of engineers, along with Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director N.V.S. Reddy, visited Delhi to study the feeder services. To ensure that more and more people use the Metro services, efficient feeder services need to be in place.
In Delhi, the e-rickshaws are doing very well, said a source. A senior officer said, “They are battery-operated rickshaws that are cost-effective and light on the commuters’ pockets. We hope to get the updated version for Hyderabad.”
