Hyderabad: Bank employees across the city stayed away from work on Wednesday in support of the one-day nation-wide strike of bank employees over wage revision issues.
The strike affected banking services like check clearance, demand drafts, high value withdrawals and other key transactions. The United Forum of Bank Unions had announced a strike demanding immediate settlement of wage revision, and most banks remained closed.
However, private sector banks like ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank remained open and most of the ATMs were functional.
