Orissa seeks Rs 777 crote Hudhud aid from Centre
22 districts got affected due to the cyclone

Bhubaneswar: The Orissa government on Wednesday demanded financial assistance to the tune of Rs 777.12 crore for restoration and rehabilitation work in the 22 districts which were affected by the cyclone Hudhud in October this year.
Announcing this at a press briefing here, special relief commissioner (SRC) Pradipta Mohapatra said the state government, in a memorandum submitted to the Union home ministry, has informed that of the total 22 affected districts, cyclone Hudhud has rendered extensive damage in seven districts while the remaining 15 districts have been partially affected.
“Besides, the memorandum has also put the total loss caused by Cyclone Hudhud at Rs 4949.39 crore,” he added. Nearly one lakh houses were damaged.
