Water level in Mullaperiyar dam reaches 139.7 FT
District administration has opened six control rooms near Mullaperiyar dam

Kottayam: While the water level in the Mullaperiyar dam reaches 139.7 feet, the district administration has taken elaborate arrangements to face any emergency situation.
ADM VR Mohanna Pillai, who is in charge of the Idukki district collector told Deccan Chronicle that the district administration has opened six control rooms in those villages near to the Mullaperiyar dam, and are equipped to take any emergency measures.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle Mr Pillai said that the flow of water in the Periyar River is normal, and there is no need for worry to the public.
“We have also opened two additional control rooms in Idukki collectorate and the Peerumedu Taluk office. We are following up the situation”, Mr Pillai added.
