MLC’s kin arrested for assaulting hotel staff

Bengaluru: The nephew of Bengaluru Rural local bodies constituency MLC E. Krishnappa has been arrested by Madanaikanahalli police on Friday for allegedly assaulting a hotel employee over a trivial issue.

According to the police, the incident happened on Tuesday (Nov. 11) and as per the complainant, Ravi, a hotel employee, Mahesh and five others assaulted him for not giving them an apple. Mahesh is the son of Krishnappa’s brother.

Mahesh and his five friends arrived at the Vyvidhya Hotel in Madanaikanahalli in an inebriated state around closing hours and told Ravi to give them an apple. When Ravi refused there was a heated argument and later Mahesh and his friends physically assaulted him and fled, the police said.

After receiving a formal complaint the police on Wednesday picked up Mahesh and the others and are interrogating them. A case of an attempt to murder has been filed, police said.
