Two held for cheating private company
Seetharam stole five cheques from the company's cheque book and withdrew Rs 18.4 lakh

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police has arrested two persons for allegedly cheating the director of Indu Projects of Rs 18.4 lakh. The accused are P. Seetharam, 30, an office assistant at Indu Projects and resident of Ameenpur in Miyapur. He belongs to Navpet in Mahbubnagar district.
The other accused is G. Venkatesh, 24, a watchman and resident of Servants Quarters in Srinagar Colony. He hails from Kondavara in Mahbubnagar district.
West Zone DCP A. Venkateshwara Rao said that Seetharam and Venkatesh were friends. Seetharam came to Hyderabad in search of work and was working in Indu Projects since 14 years.
He joined as an office boy for a salary of Rs 1,000 and was promoted as office assistant in 2010. He gained the confidence of Indu Projects director B.V. Bhaskar Reddy, who assigned him the job of depositing and withdrawing cash from the HDFC Bank’s branches at Kukatpally, Begumpet, Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills.
Seetharam later stole five cheques from the company’s cheque book and withdrew Rs 18.4 lakh with the help of Venkatesh. The accused were arrested and the cash was recovered.
