New Delhi: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed Mr Suresh Prabhu to lead the cash-starved Railways, move is afoot to hardsell the recently allowed FDI in the sector to the international market.

The Railway Ministry will soon rope in private players to hold roadshows in various international destinations to attract FDI.

“The Railways has notified the areas wherein FDI will be allowed. With the homework done, the next step is to reach out to the interested parties in foreign capitals.

The Railways will entrust this responsibility to private professional entities to communicate to the foreign investors that Railways could be a good investment option,” said a senior official.
