Legislative affairs Minister, Mr T. Harish Rao termed Mr Revanth as a ‘traitor of Telangana'
HyderabadThe TRS and BJP on Saturday sparred over suspension of TD MLAs from the Telangana Assembly for a week.

The BJP demanded that the suspension be revoked saying that it is against the spirit of democracy. TRS members opposed it saying that TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy is still ‘unapologetic’ about his comments against Nizamabad MP Kavi-tha and his suspension has to continue.

Legislative affairs Minister, Mr T. Harish Rao termed Mr Revanth as a ‘traitor of Telangana’  saying that he misled the House by reading out wrong data on getting more power for TS than AP from power stations.

“Despite the Speaker giving him enough opportunities in the House to withdraw his remarks and tender an apology, he ignored them. He committed three mistakes on that day. First he claimed wrongly that Kavitha had enrolled at two places for household survey.

Second he cited wrong data to claim that TS was consuming more power than AP from power stations when the entire House and state is agitated over AP denying TS its legitimate 54 per cent share of power.

Third he made unparliamentary remarks against TRS members asking them to lick the shoes of the CM. If Revanth Reddy tenders an apology, this issue will be resolved,” Mr Rao said.

However, BJP members Dr K. Laxman and Mr G. Kishan Reddy and Congress member Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded the government clarify the reason for suspending Mr Revanth Reddy and other TD members.

“The government had earlier claimed that he was suspended for making derogatory remarks against Kavitha. Now it is coming out with other reasons. The government should clarify what led to suspension of TDP members,” they demanded.
