Rotating the disc in style!

The most amazing parties happen in Delhi, says DJ Khushi who is Shah Rukh Khan’s personal DJ and is also known as the Bollywood Remix king. The man who spins at many a celeb do and is  famous for his live gigs for the creme de la creme, says, “A lot of high-scale planning goes into Delhi farmhouse parties with artistes being flown down from different parts of the world and a huge set-up with very high detailing. It takes months of sweat, toil and hardwork to create an experience like that. I feel Vijay Mallya throws the finest parties that guests truly enjoy and where everyone can let their hair down.”

Ask Khushi for the best celebrity studded bash he has played for, and he recalls, “I think the after-party at Zee Cine Awards in Macau was an amazing experience as it was an exclusive party for all the B-Town celebrities where they could just leave aside all their inhibitions and let their hair down like no one was watching. I remember Katrina Kaif coming upto me and telling me she wanted to hear my remix for her song Chikni Chameli and that she loved it.”

Sharing his secrets for a great do, Khushi says, “A lot of key ingredients are a recipe for a successful party. The layout of the party according to me is the most important decision while you are planning a good dance party. The placement of the bar and the distance between dance floor and the bar is very important at a private party. A good production set-up sound, lighting, décor and other technicals add up to create an incredible experience. And if you get a crowd that knows their music then that’s definitely a cherry on the cake. A good party is all about the experience the guests have. It’s about a memory they can take back home that night.”

Khushi also shares a secret that only he knows, ask him which stars are the best dancers and here is the reply from the man who has seen them all on the dance floor. “Hritik Roshan is a complete 10 followed by Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. I also like Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra. They really know their moves well. Shah Rukh Khan is an amazing dancer who has evolved with experience as he makes everything look so ethereal with his on-screen aura.”

Music is DJ Khushi’s raison d'être. Just 30 years old, Khushi's musical repertoire is quite rich, courtesy the early age at which he began his rendezvous with sounds. And over a period of nine years, he has simply expanded his soundscape, experimenting with every possible genre of music. Famed for his Bollywood, retro, hip hop, house and international dance music, DJ Khushi is the man behind Sound Station. He has also created the anthem track for Delhi Daredevils team for the IPL season.

Internationally his song has been selected on the prestigious Pure by Pacha Summer 2014 CD pack. He recently collaborated with global artistes for his first international release Unleashed.
