12 people held in cordon and search at Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Hyderabad
The cops raided the area as they found that several criminals had settled there
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police conducted another cordon and search, this time, at Rajiv Gruhakalpa, in Jagathgirigutta, and took 12 suspects into custody for questioning.
In a search that continued till early morning from midnight, the cops confiscated 30 motor cycles and 10 autorickshaws as they did not have documents. The cops raided the area as they found that several criminals had settled there.
The search was conducted as per the Telangana government’s policy to make Hyderabad safe, officials said.
Cyberabad cops said the Gruhakalpa area was notorious for sheltering criminals like motorcycle thieves, burglars, chain snatchers, ex-Maoists and non-locals from other places of Telangana, AP and even from abroad.
“The cordon and search was conducted mainly to recover stolen vehicles, weapons, drugs and to arrest known depredators, and migrants engaged in crimes,” said senior police officials.
A team of 380 cops comprising Ramchandre Reddy, additional DCP of special operation team, two assistant commissioners of police, 13 inspectors, 33 sub inspectors and over 300 constables searched the areas under the supervision of Mr A.R. Srinivas, the DCP of Balanagar Zone and Mr B. Srinivas Reddy, the additional DCP, crimes, Cyberabad.
