Hyderabad: A trader was murdered by a group of people at Ali Nagar in Mailardevpally late on Saturday night. The victim Mohd. Khader Ali, 40, was returning home when the incident occurred.

The murderers came in a car and intercepted his bike. They attacked him with sharp weapons resulting in multiple injuries. He was shifted to hospital, where he died later. A family dispute is suspected to have led to the murder.

Inspector S.N. Jaweed said that on Saturday at around 10.45 pm, Khader shut his shop and was returning home on his bike. A group which came in a car intercepted him in a dark bylane.

Khader got down from his bike and the group which was armed with knives attacked him. Khader sustained grave injuries and was shifted by passersby to a hospital where he succumbed later.

Sources said Khader Ali’s younger brother Mohd. Aleem was married about nine months ago. The marriage was arranged by Khader Ali. Recently Aleem who suspected his wife’s character had a dispute with her and a case was booked at the Women’s Police Station.

The couple sought divorce too. It is suspected that Aleem’s brother-in-law Abdullah who bore a grudge murdered Khader Ali with the help of his associates.

Two teams have been formed to nab the killers. Sources said the cops have nabbed the  killers but are yet to confirm it.

Meanwhile, Khader's body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital and was later handed over to his family after postmortem on Sunday.

Khader Ali, whose father is a retired police inspector is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters.
