Andhra Pradesh Winter Session likely at Acharya Nagarjuna University
The records of the Assembly would also require some space
GUNTUR: The Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), an education hub for the students of Guntur, Krishna and Prakasam districts, is going to witness heated political discussions of legislators soon, as the Winter Session of the AP Assembly is likely to be conducted here.
Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao and other officials are going to visit ANU on Monday to inspect the facilities in the Deichmann auditorium.
Mr Rao said facilities like chambers for Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition and other ministers should be provided during the Session. The records of the Assembly would also require some space.
He opined that accommodation is not a difficulty as the legislators can stay in the guest houses and private hotels, but space of various departments to give information is necessary.
After his visit, he will write to the state government to take the final call on it. Former MP, Yalamanchili Sivaji welcomed the proposal of conducting the Session in ANU.
He said that the “government is in exile” in Hyderabad, which would not help the people of AP. He added it is his dream to have the Session conducted in AP.
