Substitute Penn Orji celebrates after finding the target
New Delhi: The match started off with a flurry of colourful fireworks on the sidelines. There were plenty on the field as well, as Kerala Blasters pipped Delhi Dynamos 1-0 in an action-packed Indian Super League match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Sunday.

Nigerian Penn Orji (61st) played the super sub’s role to perfection for the Blasters when he drilled in from the top of the penalty box after receiving a pass from Iain Hume.
The win saw Kerala soar to the third spot on the ISL table with 12 points from nine games.

Delhi remain rooted to the bottom with seven points. The Dynamos seemed to be fired up by the 1-4 humiliation to FC Goa in their earlier match and came out all guns firing. Their marquee player Alessandro Del Piero returned to the line-up while Hans Mulder was impressive in the midfield as always. The Blasters also showed plenty of attacking intent with their experienced Canadian striker Hume keeping the Delhi defenders on their toes.
