Kochi: The Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL) has released a new logo and brand identity, ‘Navaswagatham’. The identity indicates a parallel with Kochi and Kerala, suggesting the importance of integrating nature, culture and community, for both the organization as well as the places.

The Excise and Ports Minister, K Babu, unveiled the logo by playing the launch video and then handing over a 3D version of the logo to CIAL MD, V J Kurian, at a function held at the airport building.

The identity was designed by Idiom Design and Consulting Ltd. (Idiom). The logo is derived from the palm leaf and its utilization, as decoration, is through the thoranam, in a flight- like mode.

It reflects the rootedness of the organization, the celebratory and welcoming nature of its culture and the greenness of its aspirations.

Directors of the company E M Babu and C V Jacob, Airport Director a C K Nair, Executive Director A M Shabeer, P S Jayan, Manager, Corporate Communication, Smt. Sonia Manachanda, Co-founder, Idiom, were also present at the function Speaking on the occasion V J Kurien said the activities of the organization also laid emphasis on its green initiative, including the generation of its own renewable energy and its aim to become power neutral by 2016.
