Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail application filed by Anu Shanthi an accused in the Attingal double murder case and observed that she had to face trial while undergoing detention.

Anu Santhi, a former employee of Techno Park, Thiruvananthapuram, had moved the court for the second time in the last few months seeking bail.

Justice B.Kemal Pasha who dismissed the plea observed:  "The records reveal that she was mainly instrumental in causing the death of her own child and mother-in-law.

Even though an effort was made to do away with the husband, it seems, he marginally escaped. When such persons are up to anything, if they are enlarged on bail, definitely there will be a threat to the life of the husband of the petitioner, who is the trump card of the prosecution,” the court observed.

The State strongly opposed the plea filed by Anu Shanthi and argued that the accused had played a key role and acted as the chief conspirator. The trial in the case is set to begin soon with the State appointing a prosecutor.
