Ram Gopal Varma and controversy are never too far away. Sometime back the director’s tweet about Lord Ganesha had created a flutter everywhere and some people had even filed a legal case against him. Now, Ram Gopal Varma is asking the people of Telangana to pray to Yadagiri Narasimhaswamy instead of Tirupati Balaji, whose temple is situated in Andhra Pradesh. He also expressed happiness about Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement that he will develop Yadagirigutta.

“Is it right that Telangana people pray to Andhra people’s Balaji more than their own Yadagiri Narasimha? I am not a believer in God but I feel it’s insulting to Yadagiri Narasimha that Telangana people pray to Andhra people’s Balaji more. Like you love your own country shouldn’t you be praying to your own state’s God instead of praying to another state’s God? Isn’t it wrong that Telangana people think of their own God Yadagiri Narasimha lesser than Andhra people’s God?

I am very happy the KCR is developing Yadagiri gutta and I think this act of his will make Telangana people realise the value of their own God (sic),” says Ram Gopal Varma’s tweet.
