Hyderabad: The AK-47 used by the unidentified assailant at KBR Park on Wednesday belonged to Anti-Naxal commando force, Grey-hounds. It had gone missing when a team was coming from Visakhapatnam after an operation a year ago.

Narsingi police had booked a case about the missing weapon in February following a complaint from the Grey-hounds commander. Police has revealed that the missing AK-47, No. 486370, was used by a Greyhound commando at the time of operation.

The responsible officials were placed under suspension during the inquiry after the incident. Greyhounds officials approached the police only in February.
