CoimbatoreCarnatica and Arsha Vidya Gurukulam will kick off the much-awaited music season with their annual Bharat Sangeet Utsav 2014 at the Kikkani School auditorium on Thursday.
 
This year, the musical extravaganza, conducted in association with Sri Krishna Sweets, promises a diverse treat on a larger scale. From November 20 to November 23, the Sangeet Utsav will bring some of the popular stars of Carnatic music to Coimbatore for an elevating musical experience.
 
"This year's utsav has interesting concerts with great musicians from traditional musical families. Every day, we will feature stars and icons, as well as promising young artistes," says K.N. Shashikiran, who has conceptualised and curated the festival.
 
The festival will be inaugurated by Swami Dayananda Saraswathi, followed by the inaugural concert of the newest Carnatic sensation Abhishek Raghuram at 5 pm and a soulful 
performance by O.S. Arun at 7 pm.
 
The four-day festival will feature concerts by Nithyashree Mahadevan, Priya Sisters, Gayathri Venkatraghavan, Carnatica Brothers, Trichur Brothers, Sandeep Narayan and Girija Hariharan.
'Contemporary Classics' will feature the performance of Anil Srinivasan and Sikkil Gurucharan.
