Hyderabad: The AK 47 used by the unidentified assailant belonged Greyhounds. Though the weapon went missing on December 26, 2013, Greyhounds officials only approached the police in February this year. The reason given for the delay was that the department was conducting an internal inquiry.

Based on a complaint filed by Srinivas Rao the Narsingi police had booked a case under Sections 408 (criminal breach of trust by servant or clerk) and 380 (theft in dwelling house) of IPC on February 3  2014.

“The weapon went mis-sing after a Greyhounds operation in Visakhapatnam in December 2013,” said Shamshabad DCP Ramesh Naidu. “An investigation is going on,” he added.
