Xiaomi, the four-year-old Chinese manufacturer, which took the smartphone industry by a storm, especially Samsung, sat in the third place world-wide.

With high-end smartphones with a pocket-friendly price tag, Xiaomi has changed the way the rival manufacturers will look at the market.

Most top leaders in the smartphone industry have been introducing the Android smartwatch after Google announced Android Wear. Samsung, LG, Motorola, ASUS are some of the brands that are already here.

Xiaomi has also planned to get on the bandwagon with an Android smartwatch. Though the manufacturer has already been selling the Mi Band, a health gadget worn on the wrist, they are considering getting a smartwatch on their list.

However, Xiaomi has a slightly different plan. Hugo Barra, VP Global for Xiaomi, recently announced that Xiaomi is planning a smartwatch, but wanted their fans to tell them how and what would they want in it.

Based on fan and customer feedback, Xiaomi plans to hit the roof. With loads of Android developers on board, Xiaomi would want to create a completely feature-rich unit, which would be cost-effective and highly tweakable.

As of now, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether they have already built the unit or they are still planning it, nor have they announced anything further. But chances are that we could see the Xiaomi Smartwatch, (possibly Mi Watch) sooner than expected.
