Mumbai: Bollywood actress and singer Priyanka Chopra and singer Sunidhi Chauhan has joined a list of Hollywood celebrities including Katy Perry, DJ David Guetta and Hugh Jackman, in a music video which they hope will be the world’s largest charity singalong of John Lennon’s 'Imagine'.
The song was launched at the United Nations General Assembly, in order to raise awareness of the ‘rights of children’ and to also help raise funds to support the organisation’s work to advance these rights for every child.
Special legal permissions have also been from the late Beatle singer’s wife Yoko Ono, to use the song.
Grammy wining singers will.i.am, ABBA and Hollywood actors which round up to a total of 56 performers, take turns to sing a line from the song.
Priyanka and Sunidhi who went international with her music by teaming up with artists like Pitbull and Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am, is just the second Indian star after AR Rahman, to lend her voice and talent to such a big initiative.
The last time Hollywood singers united for a cause, was back in 2010 to help raise funds for the earthquake hit Haiti.
