75-kg laddoo, 75 blood units on Mulayam Singh birthday
BJP alleged that Mulayam was wasting public money
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav’s 75th birthday on Saturday will be celebrated on a never-before scale in Rampur by senior minister Mohammed Azam Khan but that has not deterred the Samajwadis from celebrating the event with a “Big 75” across the state.
Menawhile, the BJP alleged that Mulayam was wasting public money.
SP leaders and workers, a majority of whom have not been invited to attend the event in Rampur, will be holding celebrations in different parts of the state.
For instance, in Dhaurhara, youth leader Anand Bhadauria has announced that he will be preparing a 75 kilogram “laddoo” which will be distributed among the people. A cultural event will also be held in Dhaurhara on the occasion.
The Allahabad unit of the SP plans to collect 75 units of blood by organising a blood donation camp and the same will be given to a blood bank. “We have asked the blood bank to give this blood free of cost to poor patients who cannot afford to pay,” said Pradeep Yadav, a local party leader.
In Mainpuri, SP workers will be giving clothes to 75 poor families in the villages and distributing medicines and fruits to 75 patients in hospitals. Apart from this, 75 meritorious students from various schools in the district will also be felicitated on the occasion. In Deoria, party workers will be distributing 75 kg of fruit to slum-dwellers while in Gorakhpur, party workers will be distributing 75 kg of stationary to poor students.
A party functionary explained the idea and said, “Netaji (Mulayam) will be celebrating his 75th birthday and, coincidentally, there are 75 districts in the state. Each district unit will celebrate the event in their own way.”
