Reds injure 7 jawans, attack copter

Seven jawans including six commandos of the COBRA were on Friday wounded

RaipurSeven jawans including six commandos of the COBRA, an elite anti-Naxal wing of the CRPF, were on Friday wounded when a search party was ambushed by Maoists in Chintagufa forest in Chhattisgarh’s south Bastar district of Sukma, police said.
 
The rebels also attacked an IAF copter that was sent to the area to evacuate the wounded, leading to injury to a security personnel deployed in the helicopter.
 
“The ultras opened fire on the copter while it was taking off carrying the  injured commandos. The security officer deployed in the copter was hit”, police said. However, it was not  known if the copter has suffered any damage in the attack.
