Watch: PM Modi wows 'fan' in Australia, stops cavalcade to meet toddler
The shy toddler seemed overjoyed to meet Modi
Mumbai: This time around Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped traffic, quite literally. Modi was no less than a star when he ventured ‘Down Under’. With a fan base capable of giving competition to any actor, be is Bollywood or Hollywood, Modi has captivated the hearts of millions.
In this video that has gone viral, Modi is seen stopping his zooming cavalcade in Australia to meet an Indian couple and their adorable daughter.
The shy toddler seemed overjoyed to meet Modi. Trying to strike a conversation with the little girl, Modi asked her, “ What time did you get up today”? to which the mother replied “at 6 am”.
The girl’s mother also said that whenever she sees Modi on screen she starts chanting ‘Modi, Modi’.
Dubbing it as a dream come true, the girl’s father thanked Modi for the gesture.
There are around 450,000 people of Indian origin in Australia, including many from the student community, and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott will be rolling out the red carpet for Mr Modi in Canberra on Tuesday.
His trip Down Under -- for the G20 summit in Brisbane and a state visit -- comes just two months after Abbott's tour of India, during which the two countries sealed a long-awaited nuclear energy deal.
