Nagapattinam: A 36-year-old prisoner, serving a life term and who came out on 10 days’ parole, married a 17-year-old girl at a mosque in Nagore, near Nagapattinam, on Sunday.

Prisoner A. Umar Barroq of Nagore, awarded life sentence in connection with the murder of Hindu Munnani activist, Dr Sridhar, at Tiruchy in 1999, has been lodged in the Puzhal central prison in Chennai.

He came out on parole Saturday and married Ms Saheera Banu of Madurai Sunday, according to his family sources. His parole expires on December 1, they said.
