Hyderabad: The Congress, which was hitherto maintaining a good rapport with the MIM, has suddenly begun attacking its former partner. The Congress take is that the MIM is helping the BJP by damaging the prospects of the secular parties.

On Sunday, top Congress leader Digvijay Singh questioned the MIM for asking its two legislators to abstain from the Maharashtra Assembly when the crucial floor test took place recently.

“I don’t understand their game; it (the MIM) is helping the BJP to damage the secular parties. How could it ask its MLAs to abstain from crucial voting in the Maharashtra Assembly?”
