Hyderabad: Tension gripped D.A.V Public School at Santhoshimanagar on Monday as some parents protested against the management alleging that a Class II girl was molested and filmed by a high school student in the school’s washroom. The parents alleged that the management had downplayed the issue. The incident occurred on November 17 but the kid’s parents informed the management only on Thursday.

In a complaint filed at the Neredmet police station, the management said the boy entered  the girls’ washroom to see the girl. The police booked a case against the boy for voyeurism.

However, the parents alleged that the boy had filmed the girl using his phone camera. Another rumour said the boy had cut the girl’s hair and had touched her inappropriately. When the incident occurred her friend was also inside the washroom.

Parents alleged that this is not the first incident and that similar activities by senior boys have been reported by lower primary girls.

“After our persuasion the management agreed to lodge a complaint,” said inspector N. Chandrababu. The management said they had been investigating secretly. “The victim’s parents requested to keep the incident a secret and said that their daughter cannot go through an ID parade,” a school official said.
