Hyderabad: The alleged irregularities in the Jubliee Hills Cooperative Society and Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society rocked the Telangana Legislative Council on Monday.

Several ruling and Opposition members asked the government to constitute a House committee or order a high-level inquiry with either the CBI or any other agency immediately.

Agriculture and cooperation minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy told the agitated members including P. Sudhakar Reddy, K.R. Amos, Karne Prabhakar, Yadav Reddy, Bhoopal Reddy and others that government was also concerned about the issue and action would be taken.

Council chairman Swami Goud said that government is aware of the matter and the  issue is awaiting Chief Minister’s decision.

“The Government had promised that it would constitute a House committee or call for a CBI inquiry into the scam. But, no action has been taken,” Mr Sudhakar Reddy said.

Intervening, Council chairman Swami Goud said the government would make a statement soon.

There was a skirmish among the members on the issue as some council members are also present in the housing boards in question.
