New Delhi: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will flag off the Delhi-Kathmandu bus service from the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Bus Terminal at Ambedkar Stadium.

According to reports, the Delhi Transport Corporation had received a proposal from the Prime Minister Office for beginning the trans-national service, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Nepal for the SAARC summit.

The DTC will reportedly run a luxury Volvo bus on the Delhi-Kathmandu route and the tentative one-way fare is likely to be around Rs 2,300.

It is being touted as a service which will boost trade and tourism and also strengthen bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries.
